Therapy that meets you where you are

Rubi Bolles (She/They)

Psychotherapist & Founder of Headwinds Therapy PLLC

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been in the social work field since 2015, providing therapy since 2020. I value social justice, both in my role as a therapist, as well as outside of the office. I view clients through an intersectional lens, considering their personal mental health experiences alongside the influence of their environment, identities, and the social systems around them.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals and families navigating mental health crises, systemic injustice, and the legal system. My current work is especially grounded in supporting adolescents and young adults navigating trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions.

I’m passionate about making mental health care accessible and affirming for those who’ve often been overlooked or underserved, particularly LGBTQ+ folks, people from low-income backgrounds, and communities of color.

My approach is eclectic and trauma-informed, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and strength-based practices. I tailor each session to meet you where you are, honoring your lived experience and trusting your perspective.

I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and non-pathologizing. At the core of my work is a commitment to building strong, respectful relationships. I care deeply about creating a space where you can show up fully, without judgement.

I work best with folks who value authenticity, humor, and a collaborative approach. Once we’ve built trust, I’m not afraid to gently challenge you, and I’ll always make sure we’re on the same page. My goal is to help you push forward when life pushes back.
