Therapy that meets you where you are

Rubi Bolles (She/They)

Psychotherapist & Founder of Headwinds Therapy PLLC

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been in the social work field since 2015, providing therapy since 2020. I value social justice, both in my role as a therapist, as well as outside of the office. I view clients through an intersectional lens, which means that I consider how the different aspects of your identity, such as race, gender, and class, influence your experiences.

I’m passionate about making mental health care accessible and affirming for those who’ve often been overlooked or underserved, particularly LGBTQ+ folks, people from low-income backgrounds, and BIPOC.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported children, adolescents, and adults navigating a variety of mental health symptoms and disorders, from anxiety and depression to OCD and Borderline Personality Disorder. I especially love supporting adolescents and young adults navigating trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions.

I work best with folks who value authenticity, humor, and a collaborative approach. I believe that therapy should feel safe and respectful, but not necessarily always easy. Once we’ve built trust, I’m not afraid to gently challenge you in sessions.

My clinical approach is eclectic and trauma-informed, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and strength-based practices.

At the core of my work is a commitment to building strong, respectful relationships. I care deeply about creating a space where you can show up fully, without judgement. My goal is to help you push forward when life pushes back.
